Terri L. Heard, Web Designer-Administrator & Content Manager
Terri L. Heard is a former TV Guide writer and assignment editor who has interviewed Joss Whedon, Ryan Murphy, Christopher Plummer and Chaka Khan. She is currently a contributor to the Tinsel & Tine film and restaurant review blog, for whom she's interviewed comedian Jordan Peele and Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man. She has also written for Sister 2 Sister magazine for whom she interviewed "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" screenwriter Tina Andrews and "Deep In My Heart" TV movie director Anita Addison. Kia Jones, Strategic Planner
Kia Jones is an actress, book author and entrepreneur. She has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern University.
Kia loves children and also has a special love for the TV/Film/ Radio Industry. She has been a cohost on “The Streets Are Talking" radio show on WURD-AM 900 in Philadelphia.
She has published a children’s book series “The Adventures of Shamya and Friends.” Her acting career has given her credit in various arenas, including theatre and television. Kia also works as A and R for Moneyline Ent.
Kia is excited to be a part of this amazing team that recognizes and rewards indie filmmakers for their awesome works.
Malik Omar, Outreach Specialist
Malik is a lover of the arts; they have been his passion for several years now. He sees them as a powerful way to express himself and share unique ideas. He was inspired and introduced to them by his “big brother” and friend Floyd Marshall.
Since then, he has been an executive producer of two short films, a featured film, and an upcoming web series. His motto is “The sky’s the limit!” He considers it an honor to be a part of the Philadelphia Independent Film Awards.
Demetre Pough Edwards, Strategic Planner
Demetre earned her bachelor’s degree in the Administration of Justice from Pennsylvania State University. She is vice president on the board of directors for Teach Anti-Bullying as well as quality assurance director for a local non-profit. Recently, under the umbrella of the organization How I Made It Over (HiMiO), she started a youth mentoring program, “From Teens to Kings and Queens”.
Demetre was the supervising producer for the docu-series “Ladies of Philly” and is now the producer and casting director for Creative Force Entertainment. She has lent her expertise to “The Book on Nimrod” and the feature film “Brush”. Currently she is the co-host of of the Omni Air Waves Internet radio show, “Good Evening 2da Hood”.
Erin Marshall, Social Media Assistant
Erin is a junior at Temple University, majoring in Public Relations with a minor in African-American Studies. In her free time, she is one of the students who manage and post quality content to the social media platform for the student club, Temple Talk TV.
Erin joined our team this November with hopes of gaining more outside experience to take with her when she begins her career after graduation. Her drive and eagerness to participate are great assets to this team.
